Disaster Relief Training

April 21-22, 2017

Camp Whispering Pines

Training is available for both new volunteers and those who need to re-certify. Certification allows you to be a first responder through the Southern Baptist Convention’s well-known Disaster Relief program. Classes available on these dates include: chain saw, administration (Incident Management), and laundry. Details and registration are available at alsbom-gm.org. If you have further questions, email our Disaster Relief Coordinator, Carolyn Battle or contact the MBA office.

SUPPORT COLLEGIATE MISSIONS
Join with us to support BCM collegiate missions with a BBQ Cook-Off between our local Mobile Baptist Pastors, Ministers and Men’s Ministry leaders.  A Cake Auction will feature some of the best cakes Mobile Baptist Churches have to offer!

The Pastor, Minister or Men’s Ministry leader with the most votes for their BBQ will receive a one of a kind trophy and the title of "Mobile's Best Baptist BBQ Master 2017". Delicious cakes will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, so come prepared to buy your favorite cake! The cake that sells for the highest amount will be declared “Mobile’s Baptist Baking Champion 2017”. We will have a silent auction that night as well with a multitude of items, products and services from local businesses and other sponsors.

PASTORS, MINISTERS, AND MEN’S MINISTRIES LEADERS- WE NEED YOU!
Will you prepare some BBQ for this event? You can grill, smoke, or BBQ any meat of your choice. Smoke a Boston Butt, grill some burgers or chicken or BBQ some ribs. All we ask is that you prepare enough for 50 small (bite-size) tasting servings. We also need you to invite as many of your church members to come and vote for your BBQ to win! Will you help us support collegiate missions? If you would, please contact Campus Minister Jerrod Brown (jbrown@alsbom.org) to reserve a spot.

BAKERS- WE NEED YOU!
Will you prepare one of your famous cakes for this event? We know that every church has those great bakers who make their special cakes that everyone loves. Would you share those delicious cakes with us to support collegiate missions? All we ask is that you prepare your famous cake, package it on a disposable plate or pan, and invite as many of your church members to come and bid on your cake! Will you help us support collegiate missions? If you would, please contact Campus Minister Jerrod Brown (jbrown@alsbom.org) to reserve a spot.

BUSINESS OWNERS AND SPONSORS- WE NEED YOU!
Are you a business owner who would be able to donate an item, a service, a gift card or gift certificate to be auctioned off? Your donation will help support collegiate missions. Items will be auctioned off via silent auction and online auction on April 28, 2017. The auction will close at 8:00 p.m. on April 28, 2017. Will you help us support collegiate missions? If you would, please contact Campus Minister Jerrod Brown (jbrown@alsbom.org) for details on the auction and how to make a donation.

Mayor Sandy Stimpson has asked for a one day prayerwalk of every person on every street in the city of Mobile on April 29, 2017. Please return to prayerwalk.mobilebaptists.org and add new pages/grids from the map book for your teams to join us prayerwalking the entire city of Mobile on April 29, 2017. Each Mobile Police Department Precinct will be watching for our prayer walk teams as we join other denominations praying for the city. Pray also for our first responders as you encounter them. Morning is preferred, but afternoon is fine. Please be finished before dark.

The IMB is requesting teachers for the annual retreat of missionary families. The former team has had to cancel, so we are scrambling for a new team. Please click here for more information and if interested contact brother Thomas.

Yes, we want to help pray for the people on every street in Mobile County!

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

• The first step is to decide to participate. There is registration for individuals and churches below.

• Second, decide who will lead for your congregation. A member of the prayer committee, evangelism committee, Sunday School or Student ministry are possible leaders and participants.

• Third, decide which areas you want to prayer walk/drive between now and October 2017. Teams of two or three begin nearest the church and work outward. Some members/teams will prayer walk their neighborhoods and neighborhoods around the church many times. Participants who want to help prayer walk other parts of the County can come back to this web site to see which Street Atlas pages still need to be chosen.

• Please register below to let us know your church will participate, the contact person and the pages of the Keith Maps 2016 Street Atlas you choose. It is great that the people on some streets will be prayed for many times.
