This event is for churches wrestling with whether or not to have security teams and whether or not to arm them. This training offers some basic questions to consider. Topics include: most likely security issues, policies, training, and recovery. State missionary Mark Wakefield will lead this training.

This conference is free, but pre-registration is needed. To pre-register, click here or contact the MBA office, no later than Thursday, January 12.

People Sharing Jesus Witness Training January 20-21, 2017

Dr. Bobby Morton will teach People Sharing Jesus witness training at Crawford Baptist Church January 20 and 21, 2017. The training will be from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday night and 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Lunch is provided. Please call Crawford Baptist Church, 649-3412 to register.

This conference will focus on healthy ways to facilitate change. While stress can be good, we need to learn how much stress is too much stress. Churches can feel pushed, prodded, and even pressured. A healthy balance is a desired pursuit. This conference will help pastors, deacons, and lay leadership through this process as progress is made. Unity and effectiveness will be key principles at the foundation of this front line learning opportunity. State missionary, Mike Jackson, will lead this conference.

This seminar is a general overview of what is entailed in the work of ministry support personnel. The two-day seminar consists of 12 hours of study and activities. A certificate of completion is presented to each participant. The seminar covers office and technical skills, communication skills and people skills.

This basic training will answer such questions as:

¨ Is this a job or a calling?

¨ What do we believe and why?

¨ Am I qualified?

¨ Am I a leader or do I simply manage work?

¨ What office skills are required?

¨ How do I share the Good News through my support ministry?

¨ How do I stay “plugged in” and vibrant in this ministry?

The Baptist Foundation of Alabama Scholarship Process Now Open

The Baptist Foundation of Alabama
Scholarship Application Process is NOW OPEN

Every year The Baptist Foundation of Alabama distributes over $500,000 in scholarship awards from more than 120 scholarship funds. The application process for scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year opened January 1 and will close March 31. Applications are accepted online only and can be accessed at http://tbfa.org/scholarships/.

Alabama Baptist Religious Educators Association (ABREA) January 26-27, 2017

Redemption Church (North Mobile Campus) will host ABREA (Alabama Baptist Religious Educators Association) on January 26 & 27, 2017. The special guest is Jim Putman of Real Life Ministries. One of the retired pastors in West Mobile Baptist Church, Wallace Curlee, is moving out of his home and would like to donate part of his library (Bible study books, commentaries, some fiction but all Christian books, mostly hardbacks) to a pastor or a church library. If you are interested, call West Mobile Baptist and leave your contact information and we will relay the information to his daughter.
