Annual Church Profiles/Reports (ACPs) were mailed to church addresses Wednesday, July 31, 2019. Please look for your church's ACP and make sure the Church Clerk gets the packet. Completed ACPs are due September 4. This profile of your church is a very important task for your church statistics and leadership personnel to be properly documented for the Association, Alabama Baptist State Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. If you have any questions, please contact the MBA office. Watch this video from Dr. Rick Lance about the importance of the ACP and why we do it. https://ricklance.com/2019/07/30/time-to-think-about-the-annual-church-profile/

The fall semester is quickly approaching on our college campuses in Mobile County. Baptist Campus Ministries exists as a missionary extension of our Baptist Churches to reach, grow and send collegians and to help our churches do the same. We believe that every Mobile Baptist Association Church can have a ministry to collegians, whether that is 1 or 100 students. We have several opportunities coming up in the next month to help your church connect to collegians and the college campus. Baptist Campus Ministries invites you all to participate in these connection events, send representatives if possible, and strategically plan how you will engage collegians this year. I would like to highlight a few events that I think will be beneficial to you. Make sure to click on the link below to see a complete list of opportunities and to RSVP to the connection opportunities you all will be able to participate in. Our Annual Church & Campus Connection Cookout is on Tuesday, September 3 at 7 p.m. Our various local churches will send representatives, setting up displays, meeting new students, and sharing about their congregations. You are invited to send a team. We will provide the dinner, the space and the tables; you just bring some church information for a tabletop display. You may also RSVP quickly at the link provided below. You can connect many other ways with collegians in the next month through our BCM ministry. We have ministry opportunities to students from multiple campuses planned and would love to have your involvement. PLEASE check out the link provided to find a comprehensive link of all the opportunities and to RSVP for the things your congregation would like to help with in the next month. We need to hear from you! We can serve you better and help you be connected to collegians more strategically if we know you all would like to participate in these various opportunities. This survey is short and you will be able to complete it in just a few minutes. Let us partner with you to reach collegians. In 2018, Mack Morris, pastor of Woodridge Baptist Church, Mobile, celebrated 50 years in ministry. During that time he served as pastor of seven churches, with the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, on the executive board of the Alabama Baptist State Convention, as moderator of the Mobile Baptist Association, as the first president of the board of regents at the University of Mobile and as a trustee at the University of Mobile for eleven years. Now it is time for him to retire. On August 25, 2019 after serving at Woodridge Baptist for 19 years, Morris will finish his ministry there. He will continue in ministry by assisting other churches with building programs and serving as a transitional pastor. He and his wife, Kathy, also plan to do some traveling and spend time together and with their three children and two grandchildren. Morris has been a leader among Southern Baptists in growing churches, reaching people for Christ, missions giving and building church facilities. He has led church building conferences across the southeast and has led churches where he served to complete 18 building programs. In his spare time, he also is an author, poet and history buff. Woodridge is hosting a retirement reception in honor of Morris on Sunday, August 25, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (TAB)
