Cooperative missions is an important Southern Baptist distinctive that is often not understood in our pews. Please invite one of the MBA staff to set up a display in your church, or to speak anytime during the year. The Impact Mobile offering provides an opportunity for churches that may not have financially supported cooperative missions in their Jerusalem as much as they would have liked. It also assists those churches who use regular special offerings as their primary means to raise missions support. We are grateful for the churches that provide a portion of their missions tithe through the budget, and understand those churches may choose not to promote this offering. This is an “above the tithe” missions offering to assist the ministries and emphases of the MBA to make an eternal difference in Mobile County. Your sacrificial missions tithes allow us to provide MBA sponsored trainings and consultations to dozens of pastors, staff and members about every aspect of growing, maintaining and managing a church. Please consider participating in the “Impact Mobile Associational Missions Offering.” Visit mobilebaptists.org for more information and to download promotional materials.

Mobile Baptist Association (MBA) 2005- 2015
C. Thomas Wright for the Future Focus Committee
Churches need to be diligent stewards of where they invest missions giving and volunteer time. Unfortunately, churches and individual believers routinely support parachurch organizations or individuals that have unbiblical theology, compromised financial procedures, improper polity, and limited eternal return on the investment of missions’ money and volunteer time.
MBA Executive Committee Reports provide extensive evidence of effective associational philosophy, strategy and function. Due diligence toward the MBA will confirm conservative biblical theology, excellent financial procedures, SBC polity and an eternal difference for their investment of missions giving and volunteer time.

Church members and pastors often receive requests from parachurch ministries asking for financial and volunteer help. Churches and individuals must practice diligent stewardship for any group they support. Churches need to confirm the requester’s biblical theology, church polity, financial integrity and personal accountability. Often, it is a disadvantage to choose parachurch ministries instead of denominational ministries. Parachurch ministries rely on churches but are NOT accountable to those churches who support them. Avoid parachurch ministries led by entrepreneurs who reject external guidelines from a church, denomination or their board. They often provide ministries that are less efficient and effective than ministries done cooperatively by denominations and churches. Here are seven essential guidelines before supporting a parachurch ministry or individual: Read More

Day of Prayer for the Mobile International CommunityMonday, July 25, 2016 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. International Ministries Center
Prayer is the start of missions. Through prayer, we gain a heart for missions and the capacity to reach the 72 nations that live in Mobile County. July 25, 2016 at the International Ministries Center, will begin a one year season of prayer for the International Community living in Mobile County. Come enjoy a $5 lunch, time of prayer, and flag ceremony.
We no longer have to get on an airplane to reach the world. We only need to look at our County and see the 68 different people groups living among us. The Father has brought them to us in order to help them know true love and forgiveness. Prayer is the first step in them knowing Jesus Christ. Mobile Baptist churches are being asked to consider adopting one of the 68 People Groups that live in Mobile. Your adoption of a People Group means your church will regularly pray for that nationality for one year. Churches are encouraged to be creative and think of unique ways to keep the adopted People Group in prayer. Prayer is the main thing! For a visual reminder, churches are also asked to consider purchasing two flags of the adopted nation. One flag is to be placed in a prominent place in their church buildings. The second flag will be hung at the International Ministries Center. Each flag will remind churches and others to pray for the salvation of the peoples the Lord has brought to Mobile County. FLAG INFORMATION Flag specifications: two 3’ x 5’ - Visit flagsusa.com/international-flags or call 866-879-1776. Average cost is $30-$40 per flag. CLICK HERE to download a Country/People Group Profile and/or adopt a country/people group.

The Wright Word, June-August 2016
“Put on the Armor...”
The Governor Bentley scandal is a warning to every believer. Sin makes us stupid. Sin ALWAYS has consequences; any sin. all sin. It will divide families, destroy careers and decimate relationships. Hence the need for the whole armor of God in daily attire as described in Eph. 6:11-18.
Many days begin with the latest emergency or deadline. It can become easy to rush outside without our armor. Beloved, the days are too dark and the enemy is too active for us to place ourselves in such danger. We have to be on the front lines. But we have to be well-armored to survive and thrive.
Two Good Podcasts
Smart phones allow us access to a massive library of training resources. Podcasts of preachers help hone our content and personal walks. Podcasts from sites like Southeastern Seminary and LifeWay’s newchurches.com provide practical lessons and application.
