Associational Missions Week of Prayer and Impact Mobile Offering May 19-26, 2019

Cooperative missions is an important Southern Baptist distinctive that is often not understood in our pews. Please invite one of the MBA staff to set up a display in your church, or to speak anytime during the year.

The Impact Mobile offering provides an opportunity for churches that may not have financially supported cooperative missions in their Jerusalem as much as they would have liked. It also assists those churches who use regular special offerings as their primary means to raise missions support. We are grateful for the churches that provide a portion of their missions tithe through the budget, and understand those churches may choose not to promote this offering. This is an “above the tithe” missions offering to assist the ministries and emphases of the MBA to make an eternal difference in Mobile County. Your sacrificial missions tithes allow us to provide MBA sponsored trainings and consultations to dozens of pastors, staff and members about every aspect of growing, maintaining and managing a church. Please consider participating in the “Impact Mobile Associational Missions Offering.”

Volunteer Port Chaplains Needed

International Ministries need several Volunteer Port Chaplains who can drive to and from the ships. The chaplains need to lead Bible Studies on the ships at various times. Volunteers must pass a background check for TWIC access to the ships. Please contact Dr. Bobby Morton for more information, via email or 251-661-7111.

International Language School (ILS) News and Announcements

The ILS will have 10 weeks of summer classes. Suggested donation is $35. Classes are for beginners – intermediate. Contact Kim at 251.533.2911 to register. Classes start on May 13.

ILS students and their families are invited to have lunch with their teachers on June 8 and July 6, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 pm. A light lunch will be provided, but you should bring food to share. We are excited to see you during the summer, so come to have conversation and a meal.

Registration for fall semester is on June 8 and July 6 at 1:00 pm. After our lunch together, we will have registration and evaluations for the new school year.

In the fall semester, night ESL classes will be on Monday nights, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Day classes will meet two days a week: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

With the new school year starting August 12, and registration open now, the ILS needs individuals or teams to distribute promotional materials in the community.

Maintenance Workers Needed

Part-Time Maintenance workers needed. Schedules involve 2 or 3 days per week and 7 hours per day. Duties involve setting up rooms, waxing floors, light electrical and plumbing, vehicle checks, repairing equipment, etc. If interested call Garry Harred, 251-633-6000, at Woodridge Baptist Church.
