Christmas from Around the World

 International Christmas Celebration

Saturday, December 2, 2017
6:00 p.m.

International Ministries Center

Christmas is almost upon us. We look forward to celebrating our Lord’s birth with people from many nations at the International Ministries Center on December 2, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. for the International Christmas Celebration. I would like to invite you and your church family to be a part of the celebration this year.

Program
The theme this year is Christmas from Around the World. The evening will begin with fellowship around the table with various International foods. There will be drama and Christmas Carols by the language churches. Rev. Loren Robinson, Director of Missions for the Clarke Baptist Association, will be the speaker. Gifts will be given to seafarers and children from the international community.

Meal

We have asked the language churches and language school students to provide most of the food this year. The Mobile Baptist WMU will be coordinating the dinner and serving those attending. If you would like to make a donation to help support this celebration, please make checks payable to International Ministries and send to the Mobile Baptist Associational office by November 16, 2017. Please designate your donation for the International Christmas Celebration.

Gifts

Again this year, we would like to present each seafarer with a wallet including a $10 Walmart gift card inside. Other items, as seen on the enclosed list, are also being collected.

It is my prayer that through this celebration we will be able to impact those in attendance with the love of Christ. Thank you for all of your support for this great ministry. I am honored with the opportunity to serve as International Ministries Director.

#prayerwalkmobile Continues in 2018
Prayer unites believers. Matthew 18:19 shows that cooperative prayer (“if two of you agree…”) brings devastating defeat to the enemy. Our MBA Executive, Evangelistic Ministries and Biblical Prayer committees invite our churches to continue to prayer walk every street in Mobile County in 2018. We have 31 churches who have completed about 55 pages of the 94 pages in the Keith Street & Road Atlas Map Book. Training details, registering and reporting are at prayerwalk.mobilebaptists.org and the hashtag #prayerwalkmobile.

Intercession for the MBA Staff on your Prayer Lists
Jesus gave the example of praying for other believers in John 17. Your associational staff face challenges every day as we consult with church leaders and members. We need wisdom and direction as we consult in church conflict, staff changes, growth options, building needs, disaster relief and every other component of church life. Please add us to your Wednesday night prayer list. Please pray that financial needs will be met.

Disaster Relief Response and Preparation
A September 10, 2017 article documented how Christians provide more disaster aid than FEMA. The SBC is the largest volunteer Disaster Relief (DR) Organization with 90,000 trained volunteers. Your disaster donations are most effective through SBC Disaster Relief. One hundred percent of your donations go to alleviate spiritual and physical suffering. I have witnessed many times an SBC volunteer put down a chain saw or stop mud out to share, cry and pray with a homeowner.

Living the D-Life means living a lifestyle of discipleship. Think about it. What if you could successfully equip everyone in your ministry for a life of discipleship—anytime and anywhere?

This is the purpose of D-Life. D-Life is not a program; it’s a lifestyle. It’s an organic, intentional, and simple process for equipping all believers for a life of making and multiplying disciples. D-Life is biblical, multi-generational, and reproducible. The Bible and the D-Life Web App or D-Life Journal are the only tools needed to equip leaders to lead and multiply D Groups of 3 to 8.

The best way for a church or ministry to begin living the D-Life is to equip leaders in a D-Life Boot Camp. D-Life Boot Camps are designed to train believers to use the D-Life Web App or Journal for a life of discipleship. Ministries that equip their leaders through a boot camp are seeing great results.

D-Life author and trainer, Dr. Bill Wilks, has led D-Life training in churches, ministries, and associations across the country. The Alabama Baptist, Life Bible Study, and several others are sponsoring two D-Life Boot Camp opportunities with Dr. Wilks for Alabama Baptists.

For more information about D-Life or to register for a boot camp go to: livethedlife.com.
