Texas Disaster Relief said this morning, August 28, that immediate call out needs are being handled by the Texas volunteers and DR fleet. Assessments are ongoing as the disaster is still occurring. The initial call up for volunteers will begin with units closest to the disaster areas.MBA DR trained individuals for Chainsaw, Chaplaincy, Laundry and Administration are being put on alert to start checking calendars for availability in the coming 12 weeks of anticipated need.
MBA DR will help coordinate teams without credentials when a specific contact or church has been identified. Please let us know where your teams have identified a need and if we can help coordinate additional teams.
Until more information is available as to the specific needs, monetary donations are encouraged at SBDR.org/Texas.
Please watch our Facebook page and mobilebaptists.org for updated information.

Many are looking for ways to assist survivors in Texas in the aftermath of hurricane Harvey. Consider some time proven tips.
• Please do not collect supplies to send unless a specific organization has requested them and has agreed to receive them.
• Please do not send used clothes, shoes or jackets.
• Many excellent organizations will be assisting through established operations.
• If you would like to donate money, you may donate at SBDR.org/Texas. 100% of the funds will go to Southern Baptist response organizations in Texas. There are NO administrative fees.
• Pray for survivors, utility workers, and disaster response organizations who serve those in need.
Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers are ready to assist when requested. Self-deployment is discouraged since every part of the infrastructure is overloaded. A disaster this large will require time and a lot of resources. Pray for responses to proceed smoothly.
