Calling all Mobile Baptists! As you know we have been charged with the task of praying over every street in Mobile County by October 1 of this year. We hope you have gone online to the associational website, prayerwalk.mobilebaptists.org, and registered your church and a page out of the Keith Maps 2016 Street Atlas. We want you to pray for your area as much as possible and cover as many streets as possible by October 1, the day of our Annual Meeting. If you haven't gotten the chance to do that, please make it a priority. If you have already done it great!
Either way, we are going to have a "Catch-Up" Day on September 16 from 9:00 a.m. – Noon. We will meet at the associational office (616 Azalea Road) in church vans/personal vehicles and go to areas that have not been marked by any church. We will prayer walk and/or drive, depending on how many participants we have. We will allow priority to areas where your church is located if you haven't been able to get it covered and need help. The more vehicles/vans we have the more areas we can cover. We will split up drivers and walkers on that day. Please help us cover the county in prayer. I can think of no other greater need for our county than prayer! Hope to see you there as we take back precious lost ground!

Agonized Praying
Luke 22:44 describes the prayer of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. Pilgrims can visit the ancient garden of olive trees and the nearby cave where the Apostles probably gathered. Jesus knew His betrayal was at hand. The scripture records, “And being in agony , He prayed more intently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down on the ground.” (Amplified)
Agony results in “praying intently.” No wonder the Lord allows agony since it seems to be an effective prompt to pray. Illness also results in intent prayer. Is illness necessary then in order to prompt prayer? Praying intently should be unceasing. Prayer should be as automatic as breathing without the need for external prompts to pray. Our lives need to reflect the righteousness required for effective prayer. (James 5:16)
