Dear Friends,

Another academic year is approaching for collegians in Mobile County. Baptist Campus Ministries is looking forward to reaching, growing and sending collegians in and from Mobile County. Your congregation has an important role to play in reaching collegians. Every Mobile Baptist Association Church can have a ministry to and for collegians! Baptist Campus Ministries wants to assist your congregation in making an eternal impact in the lives of collegians.

Below is a list of events/programs that we have developed to assist our congregations in making that eternal impact!  We want to offer you the opportunities, resources and channels through which to impact the lives of college students. We have a Campus Prayer Walk on the USA Campus coming up in early August that will be foundational in reaching collegians this year. And, as always, we have several opportunities for your congregation to connect with students here in Mobile County through our New Student Welcome Breakfast and Welcome Dinner & Church Fair.

If we can offer any other help, please let us know. We are available to do specialized training in collegiate ministry, lead ministry team trainings, or simply consult with your team concerning collegiate ministry issues.

Thanks for all you do to reach, grow and send collegians here in Mobile County!

In Him,

Rev. Jerrod Brown
Senior Campus Minister

We have completed 10 months of our one year emphasis to cooperatively pray for every one of the 415,000 people in Mobile County by prayer walking every one of the 13,000 streets at least once before annual session on Sunday October 1, 2017.

Reports from participating churches continue to reflect church members looking outward. Even introverts are experiencing divine encounters and positive responses. Thirty MBA churches have registered so far and committed to pray for 50 pages out of the Keith Maps Street Atlas of Mobile County. There are another 45 pages that need to be claimed.

We are hearing from churches that have completed their area once, twice and many times. Keep up the good work. Keep plowing. Matthew 18:19 shows that cooperative prayer (“if two of you agree…”) brings devastating defeat to the enemy.

It is not too late to bring this blessing to church members and impact Mobile. Please visit prayerwalk.mobilebaptists.org to register and download training materials.

Tim Huie, a Christian counselor here in Alabama, is doing confidential research on SBC pastors who have experienced depression (either currently or in the past) while serving as pastor. It would involve a phone interview that would last approximately 30-45 minutes. Your participation would help clinicians like Tim learn to more effectually help depressed pastors. For full details email Tim at thuie.counselor@gmail.com, or check out the Facebook page Depressed Pastors in Alabama.
