Mobile Baptist Student Scholarships Available

At this time of year, the Association accepts applications for the Mobile Baptist Student Scholarship and the Addine Maynard Scholarship. These two scholarships are available to undergraduate students from Mobile Baptist Association churches, preparing for a Christian vocation and attending the University of Mobile, Samford University, or another Southern Baptist institution. The Addine Maynard Scholarship was established to assist African-American students. The Lillie Mae Dean International Scholarship is to assist a Baptist student from a ministerial or missionary family working in the area of language missions.

The deadline for returning applications to the Association is Monday, August 1, 2022. The application must be postmarked by August 1. Completed applications can be emailed to the MBA office.

Interest from the Association’s Student Scholarship Trust, held by the Alabama Baptist Foundation, provides the funding for these scholarships. As you find opportunity, please inform your members of this trust. Someone in your congregation may wish to contribute to this trust through gifts, memorials, or other means to provide future students the resources to receive an education.

Completed ACPS are Due September 6, 2022

Annual Church Profiles/Reports (ACPs) were mailed to church mailing addresses July 27, 2022. Please look for your church's ACP and make sure the Church Clerk gets the packet. Completed ACPs are due September 6. This profile of your church is a very important task for your church statistics and leadership personnel to be properly documented for the Association, Alabama Baptist State Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. If you have any questions, please contact the MBA office. Watch this video from Dr. Rick Lance about the importance of the ACP and why we do it. https://vimeo.com/282117957

Update from International Ministries

NEW IM LOGO
50 yrs Pic
In 2022, the Mobile Baptist Association (MBA) is celebrating 50 years of ministry to Seafarers visiting the Port of Mobile. In 1972, the MBA adopted the International Seamen's Ministry in cooperation with the Alabama State Board of Missions and the then Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

For the complete history, including early beginnings, of this vital ministry visit mobilebaptists.org/seafarers-ministry.

Thank you for your continued support through praying, giving, and volunteering. This dynamic ministry does not exist without YOU!

DONATE USED LITERATURE

The Seafarers Ministry is in need of used, adult Sunday School quarterlies and devotional materials (English) to give to each ship that comes into the Port of Mobile. If your church could drop the materials by the MBA Office at your convenience, it would be greatly appreciated. We may be able to use some older materials…bring them in and we will use what we can and dispose of the ones we cannot use.

VAN REQUESTED FOR THE I-10 HISPANIC MISSION

You have been faithful to pray for and support the new Hispanic Church Plant/mission, the I-10 Church. Thank you! The I-10 Church continues to grow and has recently baptized four new believers. Praise the LORD! In order to reach more Spanish speaking people, the church needs a 12-15 passenger van/bus to transport people to Worship Services and other church activities. If you have a 12-15 passenger van/bus that God is leading you to donate, or if you know of a friend, a church, or an organization that would like to donate their van/bus please call Pastor Ramon Vielza at 980-636-4182 or contact Gerald Burch at the Mobile Baptist Association. https://fbtc.org/i10church/
