9TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES BENEFIT GOLF TOURNAMENT Saturday, June 26, 2021
TimberCreek Golf Club, Daphne
It is not too early to put together one or more teams to enter this tournament. We also depend on sponsors and/or hole sponsors to help us raise funds for International Ministries including international churches and ministry to seafarers. We are grateful to Rev. Art Burroughs and Rev. James Mercer for organizing and leading this important benefit.
|
In addition to organizing Golf Teams (4 people teams), we ask Churches, Sunday Schools, and Small Groups to please encourage private businesses and social groups that you have contact with to consider becoming sponsors.
|
For additional information, donations and team registration visit im.mobilebaptists.org or contact Art at 251-232-5070, James at 251-423-0772, or Gerald Burch at 251-378-1116.

Hispanic Church Plant Update
Your faithfulness and sharing heart can be seen as we now have enough churches committed to provide a salary for our new Spanish-speaking Church Planter, Dr. Ramon Vielza. He and his family are planning on moving to Mobile around the first of June. We are still looking for temporary housing for them during their transition. They are in the market to purchase a house but need a place to stay until they find the right place. Please let us know if you know of something that is available. They will be able to pay utilities. This is an urgent need as they have resigned their North Carolina church effective May 30, 2021.

Seafarers Ministry
The Seafarers’ Ministry is seeing more ships open to visits and making requests for ministry. A larger number are now requesting transport and or assistance. We continue to offer opportunities for seafarers to attend worship services in our local MBA churches and/or conduct worship or Bible studies on board ships. Recently, Chaplain James Jones was able to lead a seafarer to Christ. The Burches were able to conduct a worship service on board a ship that was predominantly Filipino.
|
Year-to-date, we have visited 613 ships, have given out 803 English Bible/tract packs, 726 International Bibles, and have transported 751 seafarers. We continue to ask the LORD for at least one chaplain per day. Although I would love to have 2 for each day of the week, I now have 5 counting myself. If God points you in this direction, please let me know.

International Language School (ILS)
The ILS is working hard to pull out of the COVID restrictions and to get classes underway. Beginning this August, Tuesday morning classes will be a reality again. As quickly as possible, Kim wants to get back into a full program, but she is in need of volunteers. There is a need for teachers, hosts, hostesses, and people to help with administration.
|
In spite of the turmoil that COVID has caused, some of our volunteers have faithfully continued to meet with students. A couple of weeks ago, one volunteer had the privilege of seeing the husband of a Chinese student born into the Kingdom. Praise the LORD!

Metro Mobile Baptist Campus Ministries has been hard at work despite the many challenges and changes to ways of doing ministry because of the pandemic. Campus ministers, Jerrod and Beth keep up with many of their students in bible study groups through online platforms.
|
Baptist Campus Ministries exists to reach, grow and send collegians and to help our churches do the same. We are here to help you, support you, consult with you, strategize with you and partner with you.

Let's take the Gospel to the campus together!

Biblical Truth During Times of Persecution
Western Civilization is returning to a time described in Judges 17:6 and, for emphasis, again in 21:25, “ In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes” (NASB). The secular culture is trying to dismiss the supra-cultural definition of right and wrong provided by biblical truth. The result is lawlessness, confusion, arrogance and suffering. It is not the first time in history radical secularism has resulted in persecution. In every instance, uncompromised biblical truth eventually prevailed. We need to be faithful to biblical truth in every aspect of our lives and churches. We eagerly may anticipate another spiritual awakening too.
|
First Peter is a good study for your congregation. During a former time of persecution, it was written. The aged Peter provides guidance for how to remain faithful as people seek eternal solutions to overwhelming concerns.

New Churches Joining the MBA
New work is essential to replace dying and plateaued churches. Covid did not stop these two church planters, Joe Stevens Jr. and Reid Guy, from beginning new work and seeking to join the MBA. The Membership Committee under the capable leadership of Rocky Pugh examined the by-laws to confirm consistency with the theology, philosophy and strategy of the MBA. It always is encouraging to have others recognize the importance of fellowship through cooperative missions. The Executive Committee unanimously welcomed under Watchcare Redeemer Fellowship, meeting in Saraland, and The Port Community, meeting in Chickasaw. Please welcome them, pray for them and offer any support you can.
