Jean is from Mobile. She is married to Leon who is currently serving as Associate Pastor of Hill Spring Baptist Church. The Champions have 4 daughters and 13 grandchildren including 2 from China. Jean has an AA Degree from Clarke Memorial College and a  BS Degree from Whitworth College. Jean also graduated from the Spanish Languages Institute of Costa Rica. She served as an Elementary Teacher for fifteen years. The Champions served as Missionaries with the International Mission Board from 1984- 2006. They retired after 221/2 years on the field in Argentina and Venezuela. Jean is presently serving with Leon at Hill Spring Baptist Church in West Mobile. Leon and Jean have been serving in the ministry for 54 years.
