Impact Mobile Associational Missions Offering

Impact Mobile color logo

Cooperative missions is an important Southern Baptist distinctive that is often not understood in our pews. Please invite one of the MBA staff to set up a display in your church, or to speak anytime during the year.

The Impact Mobile offering provides an opportunity for churches that may not have financially supported cooperative missions in their Jerusalem as much as they would have liked. It also assists those churches who use regular special offerings as their primary means to raise missions support. We are grateful for the churches that provide a portion of their missions tithe through the budget, and understand those churches may choose not to promote this offering. This is an “above the tithe” missions offering to assist the ministries and emphases of the MBA to make an eternal difference in Mobile County. Your sacrificial missions tithes allow us to provide MBA sponsored trainings and consultations to dozens of pastors, staff and members about every aspect of growing, maintaining and managing a church. Please consider participating in the “Impact Mobile Associational Missions Offering.”

Yes, we want to help pray for the people on every street in Mobile County!

  1. The first step is to decide to participate. There is registration for individuals and churches below.
  2. Second, decide who will lead for your congregation. A member of the prayer committee, evangelism committee, Sunday School or Student ministry are possible leaders and participants.
  3. Third, decide which areas you want to prayer walk/drive between now and October 2017. Teams of two or three begin nearest the church and work outward. Some members/teams will prayer walk their neighborhoods and neighborhoods around the church many times. Participants who want to help prayer walk other parts of the County can come back to this web site to see which Street Atlas pages still need to be chosen.
  4. Please register below to let us know your church will participate, the contact person and the pages of the Keith Maps 2016 Street Atlas you choose. It is great that the people on some streets will be prayed for many times.

MBA Evangelistic Party Trailer

Your cooperative giving to the MBA allows us to provide the basic resources needed to conduct an Evangelistic Party in any Mobile County community. We provide access to these trailers to help MBA churches maximize their outreach budget and help some that would not otherwise have the resources to conduct an evangelistic event. Our goal is to have Evangelistic Outreach Events occurring every weekend somewhere in Mobile County.

The $250 per use rental donation is to help offset the cost of the EPTs (there are $100 worth of New Testaments and tracts included in each rental). The additional $100 refundable deposit became essential to improve the cleaning and repacking of the trailers. Those funds are used to repair, replace and clean if the church using it failed to do so properly. Scholarships may be available for any church that cannot afford the rental fee. It is estimated the contents of the trailer would rent for $1,500 a day. Any additional contributions you wish to make will go toward adding additional items in the trailers, repairing equipment as needed, and purchasing additional trailers. You can also provide a scholarship for a smaller-membership church to use a trailer. The demand for the trailers prevents our taking them outside of Mobile County or use by non-MBA churches. We refurbished the trailers in May 2011.

EPT – Evangelistic Party Trailer Training

There will be an Evangelistic Party Trailer (EPT) training Thursday May 11, 5:30 p.m. at Bayou Sara Baptist Church (12, Bayou Sara Avenue, Saraland). The training will take place Rain or shine. A light meal will be provided. Please RSVP to be sure enough food is available. As you recall training is required to help us be the best stewards possible of this marvelous resource. Bro. Thomas Wright will lead the training which includes practical lessons how to conduct an effective evangelistic event and how to set up and take down the contents of the trailer. Visit for more details on the EPT.

We continue to see great results from churches using our EPTs. We have seen over 2,000 decisions directly attributed to these creative evangelistic outreach events. The EPTs are available to all MBA churches for $250 plus a $100 refundable deposit. The rental value of items in the trailer is over $1,200. The fee allows us to replace normal wear and tear on the contents.

Churches wanting to use the EPTs must be certified (or recertified if training not up to date)  through training. The MBA provides trainings for groups of at least 10 to learn how to use, unpack, and repack the EPTs. Contact Thomas Wright to schedule training for a group of at least 10 people. It has become necessary to charge an additional refundable $100 deposit to ensure the trailer is returned clean, dry, and with all of its contents. The deposit will be used to reimburse individuals that have to clean, restock, and repair the trailers that are returned in an unsatisfactory condition.

Visit for more information.

This is a way to have a Kingdom impact long after our time on earth is over. Consider Giving a Portion of your VBS Offering to International Ministries.
The MBA International Ministries/Missions committee asks churches and VBS leaders to consider dedicating at least a portion of their VBS offerings to International Ministries. International Ministries is part of the MBA and works to reach the many people from 72 different nations living in Mobile County. This includes ministry to seafarers aboard ships in port, International Language School/ESL classes and church planting. Visit for more information on the vital ministry. Check out this video for an easy way to quickly share/learn about the various ministries to Internationals in Mobile County.

Bobby Morton 2015Bobby Morton
Director of International Ministries and Church Planting

I work with our present Language Churches, Language missions and Language Bible Study groups to encourage and equip them to be more effective in their ministries. With the 72 nations living in Mobile County, I am seeking to develop active Bible studies for each of these groups and move them into growing congregations and a part of our Association. Also, I have the seven Language School sites teaching English as a Second Language. Training site leaders and teachers for each of these sites is part of my duties. We offer day and night classes to meet the needs of students. Lastly, I oversee and work closely with our port Chaplains to minister to Seafarers that enter our port.

Volunteer Port Chaplains Needed

International Ministries need several Volunteer Port Chaplains who can drive to and from the ships. The chaplains need to lead Bible Studies on the ships at various times. Volunteers must pass a background check for TWIC access to the ships. Please contact Dr. Bobby Morton for more information, via email or 251-661-7111.
