Cooperative missions is an important Southern Baptist distinctive that is often not understood in our pews. Please invite one of the MBA staff to set up a display in your church, or to speak anytime during the year.

The Impact Mobile offering provides an opportunity for churches that may not have financially supported cooperative missions in their Jerusalem as much as they would have liked. It also assists those churches who use regular special offerings as their primary means to raise missions support. We are grateful for the churches that provide a portion of their missions tithe through the budget, and understand those churches may choose not to promote this offering. This is an “above the tithe” missions offering to assist the ministries and emphases of the MBA to make an eternal difference in Mobile County. Your sacrificial missions tithes allow us to provide MBA sponsored trainings and consultations to dozens of pastors, staff and members about every aspect of growing, maintaining and managing a church. Please consider participating in the “Impact Mobile Associational Missions Offering.”

The MBA International Ministries/Missions committee asks churches and VBS leaders to consider dedicating at least a portion of their VBS offerings to International Ministries. International Ministries is part of the MBA and works to reach the many people from 72 different nations living in Mobile County. This includes ministry to seafarers aboard ships in port, International Language School/ESL classes and church planting. Visit imc.mobilebaptists.org for more information on the vital ministry.

International Ministries need several Volunteer Port Chaplains who can drive to and from the ships. The chaplains need to lead Bible Studies on the ships at various times. Volunteers must pass a background check for TWIC access to the ships. Please contact Dr. Bobby Morton for more information, morton@mobilebaptists.org or 251-661-7111.

There are some stewardship resources to share with you here at the MBA office. The Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (ALSBOM) has over 500 free resources for stewardship education and promotion. All these may be ordered, free of charge, at CooperativeProgramResources.org.

The ALSBOM office of Cooperative Program and Stewardship Development has hundreds of free resources including bulletin inserts and electronic media. These allow you to share a testimony of stewardship without saying a word. Additionally, they have both Cooperative Program and hunger promotional materials. These are all free to Alabama associations and churches.

A full display of photographs and descriptions can be found at  CooperativeProgramResources.org, or you can call me at 334-613-2283.
